“Seppuku Monaka” is famous as a “gift brought as an apology.” Shinshodo is a long-established Japanese confectionery shop that opened in 1912. The monaka is wrapped in a headband inspired by the characters from “Chushingura,” a story set in the Edo period that features a ritual suicide.
